Writeblr Intro ⚠️Sporadic Updates⚠️

Writeblr Intro ⚠️Sporadic Updates⚠️

Hello everyone! This is my new intro for my writeblr~

To everyone new to my blog, I am lyuten, I am a 23 yo (extremely tired and done) university student, that has been writing for about 10 years now. I am hoping to be able to self publish my books in 2024, and most of all have a good time here with all of you 🤍

I won't be uploading anything on wattpad for now, so all of my wips will be exclusively here. My update schedule is extremely sporadic, since real life is being a b*tch.

I have a LOT of wips in mind and I get bored way too easily, but I will try to be as diligent as possible🤍

For anyone interested in reading ACOD which I will continue sometime in the near future, head to my old blog intro here, where I have the links to every chapter.

My new wip that I haven't started writing yet, Lily of Hiraeth, you can find here, and the post containing links to every chapter here (coming soon).

BOTH ACOD & LoH are 18+ and contain a lot of tws, so please read the warnings thoroughly.

I will not be working on anything else until ACOD & LoH are done, but a glimpse of any future wips will be here:

U.N.I.T.T. 137

You are all welcome to tag me in any game and ask me anything, when I have the time I will get to all of them❤️

Reading a book that was released more than five years ago and coming here on Tumblr to talk about it is like coming to the party so late that you missed even the after-party of said party and now everything that's left are a few fanarts you stumble upon by almost lucky accident and someone tumbleweeds of posts long forgotten.

With the Stars as My Compass: After ten years of wondering just who her father was, Noemi Clarkson finds the answer in a place she’d least expect. Following his funeral, Noemi is introduced by her estranged brother to the magical world of Mystics, people who are blessed by the Angels to guide wayward Spirits to the Castle in the Sky. If you feel a little crazy looking at news coverage of Gaza or any other military operations, I HIGHLY recommend looking at the Words About War guide which provides lists of misleading phrases commonly used by governments and the media to obscure the realities of war. Sitting down with a news article with this guide and replacing things like "enemy noncombatant" with "civilians" will change the entire way you look at war news and the media as an agent of the military machine. They also have a special guide on Gaza!!

“The bottom line is this: You write in order to change the world, knowing perfectly well that you probably can’t, but also knowing that literature is indispensable to the world. The world changes according to the way people see it, and if you alter, even by a millimeter, the way people look at reality, then you can change it…If there is no moral question, there is no reason to write. I’m an old-fashioned writer and, despite the odds, I want to change the world”

Armenians have lived in Jerusalem for 1,600 years and Armenian Palestinians are the oldest group in the Armenian diaspora. From their indigenous land in Artsakh to the Armenian Quarter in Jerusalem, Armenians have been facing ethnic cleansing and persecution on multiple fronts. With the escalating genocidal violence in Gaza and the West Bank, armed settler encroachment into Armenian holdings in Jerusalem has fallen under the radar of some pro-Palestine activism and it is critical we do not allow this to happen.

Some context:

( In 1948, Armenians in Jerusalem numbered about 16,000. Today, that number has shrunk; estimates range from 700-1000, with a smaller community in Bethlehem. )

“We are not the objectives of the Israelis, but we occupy a huge chunk of Jerusalem. The fact that we’re here is an obstacle for them, but we’ve been here for 1,600 years and we’re not going anywhere.” "These are only the most visible of the challenges facing the community....Israeli discrimination, economic decline, and political insecurity have taken a toll on Armenians, encouraging emigration. A century after the community was nearly annihilated, Armenian Palestinians today say they feel deeply at home in the Holy Land, but fear how much longer they will be able to hold on."

“Don’t ask me about the massacres that happened 100 years ago [1915],” Annie Guluzian said when asked about her experiences as an Armenian Palestinian. “I won’t open [up about] those topics. Because if I do, I will start talking about my brother who was martyred by the Israelis in the [second] Intifada.” The toll of the Israeli occupation in Palestine is what defines her life today, Guluzian added. Source

Since October 26th, 2023, when the leader of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem announced it would cancel a once-secret 2021 land lease deal with a real estate company that has alleged links to settler interests, the company, Xana Gardens, has sent in armed settlers and bulldozers to steal the land (including Armenian Chruch property and several Armenian families). Armenians have been resisting the occupational forces day in and day out.

From November 5th:

Screenshot Tweet from @301arm: "BREAKING: Israeli Settlers arrive with guns and dogs on the Cows’ Garden (Goverou Bardez).

Around 15:00pm, a group of Israeli extremist settlers arrived on scene where the Armenian community was having a peaceful sit-in.

Danny Rothman, backed with 15 settlers, demanded the expulsion of the Armenians:
“This is our land, leave the parking lot now!”

The Armenians refused to back down, and stood firmly on their rightfully owned property. Israeli Police arrived on the scene to diffuse the situation, which prompted more settlers to arrive in a show of force.

George Warwar, a Christian Arab, head of Xana Capital and Mr. Rothman’s business partner, also made threats to Armenians: “I will get you, one by one!”

Furthermore, one of the settlers gleefuly announced: “You are all Goys and when the messiah comes, you will all die”.

The Israeli settlers and the united Armenian community were at a stand-off.

Karnig Kerkonian, heading the legal team called for an emergency meeting with the members of the legal team in Jerusalem and the community activists on the ground to discuss undertaking further legal measures in light of the incursion into Armenian Patriachate grounds in the Old City.

As of now, the settlers have left the premises.

Further updates will follow."

November 5th:

From twitter user @syriahay: "Armed settlers (protected by israeli occupation police) attempted to seize a portion of the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem. Locals have staged a sit-in on the property and refuse to be intimidated by fascists."

November 22nd:

From Twitter user @SophiaArmen: "The struggle against the land grab of the #ArmenianQuarter is being lead by the next generation, young people who are mobilizing the community to physically block the bulldozers with their bodies. Over 25% of the ENTIRE quarter is at risk. They launched @SavetheArQ to fight back."

Quoted tweet from @yeghig: "A powerful image from the Armenian Quarter of the old city of #Jerusalem taken by Garo Nalbandian shows Armenian priests standing in front of the Israeli tractor that destroyed the wall of the #Armenian Seminary. #SaveAQJerusalem"

The image is of two Armenian priests and a young Armenian man standing in front of an Israeli bulldozer.

In response, Armenians have created an account on Twitter called SaveTheArq which has been documenting and updating on social media the recent land demolitions by Israeli settlers in the Armenian quarter, they have also launched a fundraiser for legal actions to protect the Armenian quarter and I highly recommend donating, if you can't, please share it around:

Legal Defense Fund for Jerusalem Armenians
Center for Law and Justice Tatoyan Foundation
Support the historic effort to help the Armenian Community of the Old City of Jerusalem in the defense of its very survival and security.

Colonizers write about flowers. I tell you about children throwing rocks at Israeli tanks seconds before becoming daisies. I want to be like those poets who care about the moon. Palestinians don’t see the moon from jail cells and prisons. It’s so beautiful, the moon. They’re so beautiful, the flowers.

UNTITLED SHORT STORY EXCERPT:

In the distance she saw a warm glow, a sigh escaped her lips. Almost home. The rain picked up, wind pushing it in every direction. Carrie picked up her pace, at least the rain would hide her pit stains.

Almost home.

She could feel herself running clumsily down the slick concrete and puddles. The light was still there but why did it seem so far away? The North Judah street sign was tattered but it was there, she was there.

just because you wish to be sweet and full of leaves and flowers does not mean you must be defenseless. even the gentlest of forests is full of teeth. you are allowed to be both the rose and the thorn. you are allowed to bite back if anyone grasps you with unkindness.

Happy STS! ♥️ You can go back in time and give yourself one piece of writing advice. What is it?

If I could go back in time and give myself one piece of writing advice, it would have to be “Don’t compare yourself to other writers and go at your own pace.” I often feel like I shouldn’t even refer to myself as a writer but hearing this advice has really helped my confidence and understand that everyone is different and I should be happy to refer to myself as a writer.

Happy STS! Your story gets told from someone else's perspective. Whose is it?

If Cavity was to be told from someone else’s perspective, it would have to be her love interest. The woman who is caught in Delaney’s revenge scheme. Her narrative would be just as important as Delaney’s narrative, perhaps more honest.
