STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES 2.03 “The Changeling”
James Tiberius Kirk appreciation post
The way he places his hands also makes it look like he's about to take of his pants -
This is how pornos start
Bones: *In beginning, encouraging Kirk and Spock to talk to the other about how they feel*
Kirk and Spock finally do confess they start getting lovey-dovey.
Bones: *Literally any time spirk cuteness happens in front of him*
(But instead of salad it's his work or alcohol)
I think the formula for my favourite ships are Person A whose pretty chill guy about everything and is just going about life and Person B is just an obsessive freak who has probably a list of the full names and ages of all of Person A's ex-partners
I have to imagine that Kirk and Spock’s wedding was the biggest thing to happen in the quadrant that entire year! Everyone and their mother heard about the wedding announcement between the great captain James T Kirk and his first officer S’chn T’gai Spock. It must have been live-streamed or whatever the Star Trek equivalent of that is, humanity cheered and watched on excitedly, all Vulcan children probably got the day off school, this was framed in both their histories as a collective “second first-contact moment”. A bajillion Starfleet officers, captains, and admirals must have been in attendance to watch the ceremony and stay for the afterparty. Bones and Uhura stood as Kirk and Spock’s best man respectively, Pike officiated and cried many happy dad tears. In fact, countless tears were shed by the original crew of the enterprise and almost everyone in attendance (Bones denied the allegations but Scotty’s got photo evidence). Chekov got stupidly drunk at the after party along with a tipsy Sulu, who also managed to snap a quick photo of Spock and Kirk looking incredibly flushed and happy sitting together
Need to see more fics where Spock finds out about Kirk’s terrible childhood and is just dumbfounded.
In Vulcan society the idea of inflicting physical abuse upon one’s child is unheard of. Utterly illogical. So after Spock learns about Kirk's shitty stepfather, he has a crisis trying to comprehend the idea that a parent would hurt a child and also that someone would hurt his husband. From then on anytime Jim makes a joke about his abuse he notices that Spock tenses and gets angry and he's just like "???" and then later in the quiet of their quarters Spock just softly tells him that he'd murder Kirk's stepfather if he ever came across him. Kirk is half freaked-out, half touched at the sentiment.
I think this also goes for any other Vulcans hearing the idea of child abuse, if they were to overhear a conversation between humans being like “Yeah I remember when I broke the screen of my Dad’s new tv and he hit me so hard I think I blacked out haha” “that’s nothing compared to the time I told my mother to her face that I hated her cooking, she brought out the chancla on my ass lol” the Vulcans would just be downright horrified and spread this news back to other Vulcans about how savage some human parents can truly be and soon enough any human who mentions any type of violence in their childhood is receiving the highest level of comfort Vulcans can offer to a stranger: A hand to the shoulder and intense eye contact 😐🖖

Op you've meet a genius
I work retail, and yesterday I pulled up a customer's rewards account to see his name listed as "Jim Kirk."
I said, "Cool name."
"Thanks," he said. "Want to see my ID?"
He pulled out a Star Fleet identification card with a picture of Captain Kirk on it.
"My name is Jim Kirk and I'm from Iowa," he told me. "I'm invisible online."
I love the gay little old man 🖖🌈🏳️🌈 (≧▽≦)✿
i use flipaclip btw and i cant think of a caption my stomach hurts
rewatching tos for the first time in a few years and having a great time. i really do remember a lot of the stories, so far there's none that I've totally forgotten.
also fun to notice this time: 1. how often bones gets hurt 2. how kirk interacts with people (he's quite good at reading people and telling them what they want to hear to get out of a situation)
am also paying attention to kirk as "lothario" because i am about to designate him asexual, with where we're at so far. (i might just do that anyway)
Watching Star Trek (TOS) on Christmas, as you do, and had one of my favourite episodes on, A Taste Of Armageddon, and oh my god??? I forgot that it’s the episode with THE LINE
THESE BOYS. I CANT, THEY MAKE ME WANT TO SCREAM
anyways merry Christmas/ happy last few nights of Hanukkah (to anyone who celebrates) from the crazy Trekkie 🖖
Couldn’t help myself, and neither could they really >:)

HAPPY NATIONAL STAR TREK DAY! So sorry I didn’t post earlier, I was busy with school and chores. Hope you had a great day, though!

People Like Us is story about one Sam (Chris Pine), a twenty-something salesman who had to come home for his father's funeral who he hated, and discovered that his father had another family and another daughter (Elizabeth Banks) that he knew nothing about.
Imagine the brattiness of Captain James Kirk from 2009's Star Trek (who Chris Pine also played), put the character in a funeral and family drama, and basically you'll get something exactly like People Like Us. The lead character Sam was something that all of us like to hate: an alpha-type, cocky, over-achiever, money-chasing salesman who would put a bulldozer through a church and the books of law if it fit his needs. Elizabeth Banks' Frankie, meanwhile, was something of a different breed: a single mother struggling to meet her needs and put her life in order.
People Like Us is a simple story about people trying to connect with each other. No gimmicks, no obvious twist-and turns (aside from the core premise); it's just one of those quietly engaging films about people who have no idea why they're doing what they're doing. We get to slowly understand the father and what his family went through his life, as we get to know Sam's mother (Michelle Pfeiffer) and her past, his job, Sam's childhood, and Frankie's life in general. Those details, scattered throughout the movie like a puzzle of life, put layers into the characters in a seemingly obvious family drama. It put a sense of earnestness in an otherwise heavy-handed film.
TL;DR Written and directed by Alex Kurtzman (yes, that Alex Kurtzman. Roberto Orci, his screenwriting partner also wrote in this film.), People Like Us is not a perfect movie, but it's a surprisingly layered one. In all honesty, your enjoyment of this movie might depend on how much you tolerate Chris Pine's Sam (Olivia Wilde is still underused, though), but if you like family drama it's not a bad movie to spend your time with.
I read this line and my heart just about stopped. If this isn’t the most Spirk line in the universe I don’t know what is. From the book “The Price of the Phoenix”.
He’s probably fantasized about this moment happening over and over again and spends his sleepless nights analyzing how he’d accept. He needs more time to choose the appropriate reaction.
Also, L-O-V-E by Nate King Cole started playing from my playlist while I was reading this post and it just makes it all the more funnier.
you can clearly see Jim thinking deeper and deeper as he tries to figure out if this is a proposal or not.
It looks like he’s having the time of his life. Now if only Patrick Swayze were here…
star trek tos fight scenes are a national treasure, usually just badly timed punches and rolling over tables ft kirk and his tiddies but sometimes we get absolute gems like
theyre dancing x
