Experience Tumblr like never before
[Hello Tumblr! I am not dead!
It has been nearly a year since I last posted, sorry about that. In that time, I finished mandatory education, started my undergrad, lost family members and family pets, developed a physical disability, had issues with mental health and cognitive disabilities, and am still going!
I really want to try picking this account and the character I crafted for it back up again. I am now in a dramatically better place than I was a year ago and am steadily trying to come back to the things I had to leave behind.
Bite is a character that I love dearly, and even after I stopped posting, he never left my mind. (I have been spinning them on a rotisserie spike and seasoning him with character traits and trauma.)
I have no clue whether I am actually going to be able to go back to posting like I used to but I want to try. Thought it was worth making a post before I start posting out of the blue and completely reworking Bite's whole personality and lore.
If you are still following me for some reason and have just gotten this notification, nice to see you again. If you have just randomly seen this? Hi, this is definitely an introduction XD.
Thank you,
The Person Behind The Blog <3]
An obligatory Commander check-in.
“What’s your status?” (How are you?)
@bittercafanddatapads
"Ready to return to post, sir!"
It was nice of the Commander to check in on Bite, but he knew he'd do exactly the same for any vod returning from a stint on Kamino.
"If I may ask, anything of note I've missed while I was on temporary reassignment, sir?"
After the Kaminoans had sent over the paperwork for his temporary transfer, Bite had had to move quickly to get packed and on the next transport, leaving little time to tie up his loose ends on Coruscant. He could only hope his absence hadn't left too much damage within the Guard that his fellow medics were left to fix.
Manda give me strength.
Bite has treated POWs in the field before. Brothers caught by separatists that were deemed worth retrieving and even Jedi who were being torn apart for their information. This was different. What those prisoners went through, the pain they faced, was just a tool to get what they wanted in the eyes of the CIS. This was pure sadism.
The first thing Bite saw was the blood. The varied reds and browns reached every corner of the room, the brightest hues drawing his gaze to the centre. And there stood Tumbler, restrained and wounded, surrounded by gore. The clone had obviously been fighting, defensive wounds covering his body bearly discernable from the ones inflicted with much more intent.
It was the eyes that left Bite so unbalanced, all higher level thought seemingly locked away deep within, leaving only base instinct and unadulterated fear. If they wanted to get Tumbler out of here quick, then Bite had a difficult time ahead.
With the help of Bite and the element of surprise, with Crane jumping down from the rafters, Their able to get the jump on the guards quickly and quietly.
Crane gestures to Bite to retreat to where the rest of the squad was. Crane was going to cause a distraction, and needed no other vode to get involved.
“Trust me.” Is all Crane signalled, ‘force I should have thought of something better,’ before opening the door.
“Hey! Sorry I was looking for the fresher, could you point me in it’s detection?”
Cranes then books it down the opposite side of the hallway, being chased by 3 of the Rattataki that were in the room, hopefully leaving Tumbler unguarded or at least less guarded.
Force if this doesn’t kill him, Forge sure as hells will.
(go get him!! @corrie-bite @squad380 also @corrie-guard-tumbler 👀)
'Yes. Medic follow. Remember, no contact."
Bite's vision goes red as he stares at the blood staind floors for a few seconds before redirecting that anger at the door guards. The slim, wicked sharp blade he managed to keep a hold of over time slices through air and skin as if they were the same. The guard outside was just hired help. These guys were Rattataki, they new exactly what was happening, and they found glee in it. For that, even the medic will show no mercy.
Admick has a feeling today is going to be a bad one.
Easy gig, Birean said. Just guard the complex and don't let anyone out, they said. Well, nowhere did that moron mention they were keeping a semi-feral clone contained where it didn't want to be!
Admick only saw it once and he promptly wished he never did in the first place. It was a shift change, them switching out with the Rattataki guards the Senator had overseeing the complex and he lingered around just to see what the screw ups got as punishment for failing to keep the entire area hush hush.
He assumes the room is meant to look like a barracks but all he saw was a slaughter room. Blood stained the floors, the unused bed was beyond any cleaning beside a furnace and the clone?
There was no hint of life or person in those eyes, when met them by mistake. He felt assessed and cornered until the doors shut and the sounds of muffled screaming began. And the worst part? The Rattataki found it hilarious.
'Must be feeling energetic today!' What the actual kriff?
At least the damn thing is leaving tomorrow, Admick thinks to himself as he remains unaware of the approaching group of disguised Clones.
Bite signs back, 'Open on 3', before moving up next to the other side of the frame. He nodded to Crane before unlocking the keypad and opening the door.
He slips in, steps silent, into the stagnant air on the other side. The old florescent lights lined the hallway, casting twisted shadows across every surface.
'Clear. Advance.'
Admick has a feeling today is going to be a bad one.

Bite ajusted the straps of the triage kit on his back as he sizes up the guard on the door.
"He's got some sort of training, hired muscle most likely. Knock him out quietly. He doesn't look the type to cause an issue."
Bite looks back at the obscured faces of the rest of the group, anticipation and focus reflected in each of them. They had been working to try and save Tumbler for a while, and the exhaustion was obviously creeping up on them, but it could wait. Once they had their vod back, then they could rest.

At that, Bite punches '41 lightly in the arm.
"Quit it. No one is going to die. You are Coruscant Guard, best of the best, have some damn faith in yourself."
Bite steps closer to the table to start properly examining the map of the area the complaints are from. It's one of the lowest levels, with few speeder lanes and even fewer cameras. He'll have to do a proper casing of the building itself once it has been identified, but Bite is already putting together how to get to and from the level without alerting the wrong people.
"The lack of cameras on the level will make avoiding detection easier, but with how few citizens on those levels own speeders, we are going to need a different way down if we want to remain discreet. The elevators don't offer a quick enough escape if things go wrong, so... suggestions? I haven't been planet side as long as some of you so you many know of something I don't."
*INCOMING COMM*
This is a private frequency I’ve sent out across the guards comms. I think I know where to find CT-3996, Tumbler, I’m asking all guards who can to help, I’m asking all Vode who know anything to help.
I’ve left cords on where to find me, now let’s find Tumbler!
Crane put down the comm, all there was left to do was wait. Was crane nervous? Obviously, none of the Corrie’s really knew him yet and he’s asking for their help to find a vod who most think is dead.
He does truly hope help will come, but if not, Crane is fully prepared to go it alone. No matter what Forge says, what he doesn’t know won’t kill him…. Probably.
"We will if we make a plan, admittedly, I'm still waiting on approval from Nickel for this, but a little pre-mission planning never hurt anyone."
'Probably saved a few lives,' Bite thought to himself as he walked into the commandeered meeting room.
"We need to keep this discreet either way, or it will be a clone bloodbath courtesy of the Chancellor."

“BITE!!!!”
Crane’s running down the hallway, almost crashing into a wall in his rush. He nearly ran completely past Bite, until he tripped and fell face first on the floor.
Crane pants and huffs on the floor until,
“I- *huff* heard you were looking *pant* for Tumbler!”
Crane tries to get to his feet but ends up sitting on the floor.
“Weird message *pant* Me and Forge! *huff* the Rattataki!! *pant* NOISE COMPLAINTS!!!!”
(Idk if @squad380 would be with bite at this point in time but hope the @‘s ok)
( @guard-crane )
"Crane, vod, breathe!"
Bite considered helping the trooper off the floor before deciding it would be much easier to drop to his good knee.
"Slow down and tell me what you know."
"You've been here too long! Do you understand how it sounds to everyone else when you declare a brother a lost cause?! You are so used to all this pain and death that you have just given up! You call me frontie like my service record is something to be ashamed of, but just maybe if you put aside your raging bias for 10 minutes you'd realise the fact I'm not originally Coruscant Guard is exactly why I know this time will be different!"
Bite could feel the solid durasteel table, unrelenting under the tough material of his barely broken in gloves, the thick fibres the only thing insulating his adrenaline flushed skin from the icy metal under his palms. He took a deep, shaking breath before continuing.
"I have real blood on my hands from missions you don't have the clearance to even think about, I have faced droids, natborns, and everything in between. I swore to my squad I would try my best to fit in with the Guard but if being a Guard means accepting the death of your vod'e because you are too wounded by this planet to even try save them anymore, you can take back your welcome and send me to be decommissioned. Kamino can have me if this is my future, and if I'm going to die anyway then why shouldn't I try to save Tumbler, a vod who has welcomed me and stood by me and wanted to protect me since I arrived before I go."
Bite's voice grew colder the longer spoke, the need to lash out at the man telling him to just give up who stood before him, a man who has been so utterly destroyed by the planet he was made to protect. Later, Bite might try to explain to Nickel what he was thinking during this fight, but now, the only thing he wanted was to tear this mans comforting, stagnant hell to shreds, and make him see what he is doing by giving in to the weight of his nightmares.

If anyone is getting this, I need back-up! This is CT-3996, I am on level 105, I am being chased by unknow-KARK!
*There's a thud and grunt, then a quick scramble of action. As if the speaker had fallen and quickly gotten back up and ran afterwards. There's some voices in the background, muffled and inaudible*
I don't know who the suspects are or if they are gang affiliated, they are wearing concealing face-wear and no verbal confirmation of Separatist allegiance!
*There's a brief lapse of silence as Tumbler seems to be ducking around obstacles, huffing as runs from the assailants. They are getting closer and a blaster sounds off, earning a panicked curse from the Guard*
OSIK! VODE, THEY'RE AN INSIDE JOB! THEY ARE DIRECTING ME AWAY FROM MY KNOWN ESCAPE ROUTES, THEY ISOLATED ME FROM OTHER PATROLS! THEY-
*A another round of blasters before Tumbler is seemingly hit, hitting the ground with a heavy thud. His bucket records his unsteady breathing until footsteps are heard approaching*
Time to come home to our Lady, pet.

@citadel-survivor
"ulllo bite"
Echo, how have you been? I haven't seen you since my old squad operated out of the Resolute for a couple of weeks, which was a while ago now.
"I know vod'ika, but we sent out an ARF trooper the second we got the news and they found nothing, right now we need you here incase we finally get a lock on the location. Your ARF status will be essential in a complex situation like this one. If you need to do something, tell the tech boys what you found and have them search Vyrims account transactions for anything similar to or related to what you found. The second we can go get Tumbler, I will tell you, but that isn't possible if you are 20 klicks from base chasing a cold trail."
Bite wants nothing more than to send Mouse to the streets with his mastiff in an attempt to find Tumbler quicker, but with the real chance that there will be no trail and no results when they tried before, it isn't worth loosing Mouse as a potential asset when the time comes.
Mouse approaches Bite with a folder. "I was snooping around and found a couple things-- well really only one thing, just a note, everything else in the folder is my own ramblings and attempts to find connections-- but the note's something about a really impressively large sum of money and some sort of large pet. But-- I just want you to have this, so it doesn't get lost while I'm out on my ill-advised rampage"
Bite takes the folder from Mouse's hands, already trying to figure out how this information could help him locate Tumbler.
"And where do you intend to go on your 'ill-advised rampage' vod? Because we don't have a location for Tumbler or Senator Vyrim right now and if you run off to cause havoc not only will you not be permitted to join the extraction team, you may also get yourself killed."
He knows his words are harsh, his kih'vod usually someone he tries to keep a nicer tone with, but right now Tumbler takes priority and Bite can not afford to get distracted with trying to keep an eye on his obviously distressed vod as well as providing specialist insight on extraction plans and tactics to the command staff and working with the tech boys on information gathering and processing.
"I know you are angry, kark. I'm furious, but right now, Tumbler needs you as level-headed as you can manage. Can you control yourself until we have a plan, trooper?"
If Bite had been frustrated with the situation before, now he was pissed. As a front liner, a medic and a stealth trooper Bite has watched countless brothers die, has known if he'd got there quicker, if the plan was better or the stakes less high he could have saved at least some of them. It has only been since joining the guard that he felt so incredibly outmatched by how powerless he is to help. He won't do it this time, take the route all the corrie vets tell him is the only choice. He isn't just going to roll over and let Tumbler die.
"No. I won't write it. I can get him out. All I need is a location and maybe one or two more clones, but I can do it! I can get him out without causing a scene, I can even manipulate the evidence to put the thugs behind bars. I won't let Tumbler die because you are afraid when I have been training for these types of missions most of my life!"

"Not slavers, a senator. For you guys, the pattern may not be so clear, but as a medic, the vast majority of Tumblers injuries on file are from one person, Senator Vyrim. She fits the profile, thugs to do the hard work, a more complex knowledge of Tumbler and his behaviours, and well she has a thing for names evident to anyone who has had the misfortune to have to have been alone with her."
This is something Bite can do. His profiling training from his stealth ops track a weapon he is happy to wield for his vod. But what next, Vyrim is prideful, but she isn't stupid enough to leave something incriminating in her office in the Rotunda.
"We need a list of potential locations, cross reference your findings with the list of properties we know are owned by Senator Vyrim or any of her workers and associates. Vyrim is a sadistic demagolka, so we need to move fast if we want our brother back in one piece."

Bite takes the datapad from the obviously nervous vod in front of him and sets it down on the desk before looking back at him.
"Before I read this, I just want to say thank you for trusting me with this. I know it can be hard to talk about, I'm a transfer myself. You have done a good job just getting to this point, vod."
After that, he picks up the data pad and begins to read. What he read was horrible. He mourned for the shines who never got to grow up, but he also mourned for the man stood before him. For Forges life he lost after he was put through a hell he can't even remember.
"Thank you, vod. That must have been hard to write. If you ever need me, for absolutely anything, whether that be in the form of a medic, or a friend, comm me."
As Bite speaks, he writes down his comm code on a slip of flimsy and holds it out for Forge to take.
The door to the med bay opens with its usual hisssssss
He clears his throat.
“Uh excuse me,—”
(@guard-crane :D yay forge time)
Bite looks up from where he sat at the small desk shoved into the corner of the medbay, filling out medical reports to add to a few troopers' files when someone walked in. He can see no visible injuries in the clone in the doorway, so he stays sitting but puts down his stylus and gives the trooper his full attention.
"That's me. What can I do for you, vod?"
"Ok, no, stopping you right there! You are not disgusting because someone hurt you, vod. I understand hating the fact that another person has changed your body, left behind scars you can't get rid of, but that does not mean you are in any way lesser."
So maybe Bite is parroting back words he remembers his squad and other medics saying to him, but if they can help '07, then all those lectures will have been worth it.
"And I'm not staring, I promise, I know how awful that feels, managed to get into a whole fight with Tumbler about it the other day. I hate to ask, vod, but is your primary medic aware of your 'stash'? Because that is one of the few rules the medics have to enforce. If we don't know about it, we could cause you serious harm by accident."
1607 despises people seeing his scars. They're a thing of shame, after all-- not battle scars, just evidence of what's been done to him. The elaborate patterns trail down from his shoulders to his wrists, and all along his ribs. He despises them. So, when he steps out of the shower and is face-to-face with another trooper, he acts on instinct-- he punches them.
The second Bite hears the recording he ditches his meal and sprints faster than he ever has to the room a follow-up broadcast indicated all troopers with information should report to immediately. Blood roars in his ears, ka'ra he doesn't think he has ever heard Tumbler so scared. He almost slides across the floor as he plants his feet outside the meeting room, and before he has even caught his breath, he forces open the door.
"What do we know?"
A mix of officers, ARF scouts, comms and baseline troopers were all crowded around the central table that was covered in maps, personnel lists and the odd stream of code from those trying to hack the missing vods signal. It's one of the riot troopers he knows from their last trip to the medbay that acknowledges him.
"Not much, Comms have pinpointed the exact location of the transmission, but we still haven't been able to regain contact. Narrowing down the list of individuals that Tumbler has enough contact with to justify the amount of knowledge they have has been slow given the amount of Senate shifts he takes. There are a couple of ARF scouts out with mastiffs trying to find a trail, but no luck so far."
Bite nods his thanks to the scout before joining the rest of the group around the table. The transcript has little useful information, Tumbler obviously unable to report specifics with so many unknowns, but it isn't the transcript of Tumblers voice that catches his eye.
"Lady. Pet. Oh, by the Ka'ra if this is who I think it might be, then manda let us find him soon"
We are coming for you Tumbler.

"That's me. What can I do for you, vod?"
"Ka'ra, why are all the corries so murder-y? No, I do not need you to stab someone vod. And you are good on the punching thing. Work with injured troopers long enough, few things faze you in the end."
Bite prods at the blooming bruise a few times before he is sure there is no real damage. The towel around '07s shoulders does little to hide the scars from Bites trained eye, and the way the vod has slightly curled his shoulders and refuses to meet his eye tells him all he needs to know about '07s opinion on that fact.
"Are you alright? I know tension is always high on Coruscant, but it doesn't usually end in bruises outside showers."
1607 despises people seeing his scars. They're a thing of shame, after all-- not battle scars, just evidence of what's been done to him. "Kark!"
This was not what Bite had been expecting to occur when we came back from his long shift with a burning need to wash the grime of the lower levels off his skin. The punch came too fast for previously unguarded medic, and the only real indicator of what had just happened was the tense brother in front of him and the throbbing pain from the steadily growing bruise on his cheek.
"07? What the hell was that for?!"

It took a while for Bite to drag himself out of the headspace he'd been trapped in. By the time he truly felt he was back, he'd managed to get close enough to 41 that he could press his head to the other clone's shoulder. Now the panic had resided, Bite could feel the overwhelming wave of exaution crash over him, and all he really wanted was to go to sleep.
"Vor entye, vod, thank you."
Now he can think again, Bite isn't sure when the last time he'd been this close with one of his brothers. After they got him back, Atin pulled the Kih'vod card and had slept in his bunk whenever he'd had the chance. Once the transfer was confirmed, Bite had spent every night until he was dropped on Coruscant in a pile of his Aliit.
"Thank you for being here, vod. You were perfect."

[Nice, song 27: Panic Room by Au/Ra]
Bite wakes with a jolt and a loud swear, tumbling from his top bunk and groaning as he lands on the previously distant floor.
"Kriff, one night of uninterrupted sleep in all I ask for." Bite mumbles in staggered, sharp breaths, aware of the vode sleeping around him. He pushes himself up on shaking limps as the adrenaline from his nightmare continues to rage through him.
In the darkness of the barracks, Bite could have sworn he was somewhere else, the cold floor only serving to help his mind send him places he never wants to think of again. Only the steady breathing of sleeping clones, intrupted by the sounds of rustling sheets and creeking frames, grounds him in the room.
Even now, Bite can feel the panic in his throat, and the images of past horrors flash across his vision. The shaking has spread throughout his entire body, and his breathing is still uneven. With each thunderous beat of his heart, Bite moved further into the shadows of his mind.
"It's- I- I don't know. I feel like I'm there, in that room, but I can't be because my squad came for me, right? They got me out, but they aren't here, and I don't know where here is. I don't know where I am. And where are my squad? Kara, please say I got out! Please say I'm not making that up!"
Bite's breathing is slowly starting to even out as he subconsciously mimics the pattern of the vod in front of him. His mind is still racing. Every reason he finds to think he might be ok is immediately joined by more reasons he isn't. At least he isn't alone, the warm body under his palms, not a trick his mind is capable of playing.
"Not alone, not alone, not alone..."

Even now, Bite can feel the panic in his throat, and the images of past horrors flash across his vision. The shaking has spread throughout his entire body, and his breathing is still uneven. With each thunderous beat of his heart, Bite moved further into the shadows of his mind.
"No. You don't get it. It's all of them, Tumbler, every single one. You can't save me from this one, you just can't. I will not let you risk the lives of every brother on that list so you can feel like you still have control here! It doesn't matter what you do, there will always be someone out there to hurt me, and you, and every clone in the karking galaxy! What I need from you right now is to still be alive for me to come back to after, please."
The lingering tension from the fights is forgotten as reason and emotion clash in Bite's head. He is scared, but not for himself. He has seen what Tumbler will do for his vod'e, and he understands wanting to help, probably more than anyone, but he can't let him do this. Bite refuses to let Tumbler do something that could end up with vod'e blood spilt in his name, even if it means saying some things that might hurt.

"Not meant to look like what, Tumbler?"
Bite was in the barracks, just trying to fix up anything in urgent need of his attention after the latest round of Specialist Trooper VS Red Guard, a 'fun' game the chancellor's pets liked to pull any guard with additional training into.
It was only because of the injuries that the skanah aran had left him with that Bite was out of the majority of his blacks in the barracks for the first time since he arrived. He'd had absolutely no intention of showing anyone other than the other medics the complex pieces of metal that held together his right knee or left shoulder if he didn't have to. And now he has remembered why.
"If you've got an issue with the braces, take it up with the Kaminoans."
"No, you won't. The list of vod'e they fight is logged, you kill them, someone kills us."
That was made very clear to him when he was there. The threat was punctuated with a sharp jab with a pike to ensure Bite got the message. He uses the obviously stolen bacta sparingly, the gaudy label of natborn supplies straining his eyes as he tries to read the info on the container.
"Regardless, vor entye. For the bacta and the support."

"Bite, CT-8024 of Stealth Squad 07."
Bite knew there was something not quite right with that sentence, but right now, he didn’t want to think what it was.
"Why is it dark? Why is it so cold? I got out, I know I got out, my squad came for me, so why is it still cold?"
Bite was spiralling further and further with every word, fear blocking out his rational thought. He was supposed to be safe now, Commander Blackout promised. He could just feel the slightest warmth before him, but his panicked brain locked on before the rest of him could catch up. Bite grasped the vod's forearms, thankfully bare of the usual vembrances, and used all of the energy he had left to not let go.

"I'll make you a list."
Bite snaps before shaking himself. This is Tumbler, his vod. He has seen for himself how protective the trooper gets over the rest of the corries, but he guesses he kind of forgot that he was technically included in that group now.
"Sorry, I didn't - anyway, the fresh stuffs a 'thank you for playing' from the red guard. Apparently, they checked my files after someone told one of them about me and decided I'd make a fun punching bag, seeing as they haven't managed to get their hands on a trooper with my training before."
Bite would never admit it, but it was nice to be recognised as a skilled fighter again, the corries only really knew him as a medic, but he didn't make it through multiple simultaneous training tracks at Kamino and make up part of one of the GARs most accomplished stealth squads for people to forget he used to be more. The red guard beat the crap out of him, given they were fully armoured and he was one clone fighting in only his blacks, but after he got in some good hits, they at least considered him enough of a threat to switch on thier weapons.
"And the braces? Kaminoan intervention, only way to keep me useful, pushed for by my old commander who almost tried getting a jedi involded to get them to no decomm me. Mission gone wrong."
There was no way Bite was elaborating further than that right now. He hissed in pain as he tied off the bandage he'd wrapped around the burn he'd gotten from one of the shabuir's force pikes.

"Vod, if Mouse had hit any harder, the man would be dead already. And if nothing else, the vod'ika doesn't need the blood on his hands. Not unless it's nessasary."
Bite knows what that feels like. Sometimes, regardless of how nessasary it was, or how nuch they deserved it, the lives you take can weigh on you. As they reach the doors to the medbay and an organised chaos takes over as Vayne is take off them and immediately being assessed, Bite take a final look at the two before him.
"We've got it from here. I'll let you know when we have dealt with his condition. Tumbler, it would be appreciated if you could check Mouse over for me, if that's ok with both of you. Oh, and Mouse? Thank you for calling. I'm really glad you did."
(from: Mouse, @squad380)
Hey, so-- okaylistenIknockedaguyout-- okay no, breathe, just breathe-- okay. I mostly-accidentally knocked Vayne unconscious and now he's bleeding from his ears. I also not-accidentally broke his ankles. And uh. Tumbler and I have no idea what to do.
This was not what he'd expected when he arrived after receiving a 'Help Please!' comm from Mouse.
"Ok, before I touch any of the rest of that, keep breathing vod'ika, you are going to be fine. In, hold, out. Good Mouse, and again. In, hold, out. There we go. Show me the way, vod'ika, I'll see what I can do."
Given the description of the injuries, Bite is rather confused on exactly how the little vod before him managed to make someone bleed from their ears after a punch, but given the things he's seen, he'll wait until he can see for himself to make any judgements on the situation.
