Hi. I am the proud mother of my beautiful daughter, grace helbet. At two weeks old, my daughter was diagnosed with sickle cell , my daughter almost died due to complications from this disease. She suffered ALOT, but the worst were the THREE strokes to the brain. She had to learn how to do everything over again and of course this required me being off of work. Because of the strokes she now has to have chronic transfusions. I was a teacher with BENEFITS to where if she was sick I could still get paid because I was on salary and had FML. But because she is disabled, the government said I made too much money and that if she was cut off her disability check she would lose her insurance. I wasn’t concerned about the money because I am able to work. But I am not able to pay for her medical expenses out of pocket and I was forced to resign so that my child could get the care she needed. My job had Blue Cross Blue Shield which would have been $200 to add her and it only allowed three hospital visits per year and if you are familiar with sickle cell, they stay in and out of the hospital. So that wouldn’t work. I got evicted because I was unable to work . now over 6 months i don't have job . No groceries. Bills past due and broke has me so down. An assist of any kind is such a blessing. I’m currently struggling with hospital bills and food. along with that, my dad and his girlfriend cant be bothered to get me food, and he intentionally buys food that he knows set off my sensory issues because i need to "just deal with it" (while he eats out with his girlfriend every night haha)
i would *really* *SERIOUSLY* appreciate having enough money to eat and move out. right now im being forced to spend nearly all of my donation and commission money on food, and i dont want to have to do that! im not getting money fast enough to save up and be able to afford living somewhere after i move out.
i live in a shitty small town in texas, and since i was outed a few years ago, absolutely nowhere here will hire me. i have 0 way to make money without relying on others kindness, so please, i would seriously appreciate having enough money to survive.

Project 2025 makes it very possible that we could lose AO3. It features same sex relationships and smut and could be something that the new administration sees as an enemy. It’s possible that it would simply be banned in the US and other countries can still use it, but since I’m pretty sure it’s an American website the whole thing might just be destroyed instead. So everyone might lose it.
Here’s what we should all do just in case.
1. Download your favorite works as a PDF and back them up on multiple devices so you don’t lose them.
2. If you are a writer, try to publish your works on multiple different platforms like fanfiction.net and wattpad. I’m a Doctor Who writer so I know about whofic, but do research on your fandom to see if there’s fandom specific sites available.
Edit: I want to be extra clear that readers should download works that aren’t about same sex love or don’t have smut too. I think it goes without saying but I want to be very clear that the Trump administration is more likely to ban or delete the whole archive than it is to sort through what content it deems “appropriate”.
