Okay, I was scrolling through tik tok and found something really interesting (the user is @.xqzcvi)

The post got me thinking of the Di Angelo’s.

‘I can’t love you any more’

(Nico Di Angelo, the younger brother who finally understands all his sister’s sacrifices and how much she has helped him)

(Bianca Di Angelo, the older sister who after years spent dedicating herself to her little brother wants to live her life and think about herself)

And this makes so much sense to me. Many people judge Bianca’s decision for leaving Nico, and even though it was half wrong, she was just a kid. A kid that was tired of being the big sister, the adult, the older one, the responsible. She was a kid, and maybe she didn’t want to be just a sister.

Maybe she just wanted to be Bianca Di Angelo.

Her decision of joining the hunters was to finally live her own life, and not taking care of Nico all the time. She trusted the camp, and trusted Percy over all to care for Nico, as she knew he would be in capable hands.

Bianca loved Nico. But he isn’t everything to her. And that isn’t bad.

Went back to look at the episode where people say they can hear(presumably Nico) calling Bianca’s name

It’s right when they stand in front of the VR station, and the voice is MUCH louder than the rest of the people during the scene

there's something really emotional for me about the Percy Jackson TV series

When my brother died and I lost alot of him, I found an absolutely destroyed book which I didn't even know the title of because the front pages had been ripped out and the cover had fallen off. The first line was "Look, I didn't want to be a half blood".

My brother had three pjo books - the lighting thief, the sea of monsters, and the battle of the labyrinth. I consumed those books looking for my brother, but when my mother bought me new versions, including the titians' curse, which explained a lot I didn't know before, I found my favourite series instead and a feeling of being seen with the whole adhd and dyslexic thing. I stopped looking for him.

But when I think about it, I did find him. He had Percy's sarcasm, Jason's sense of honor and doing right (I know he's HOO but he counts and I love him), he definitely had dyslexia but the jury's out on the ADHD, Chiron's knowledge from experiences none of us want to live through but want the lessons from, Classrie's fight and anger, Annabeth's real-life intelligence and street smarts, Tyson's unwavering devotion to his sibling (s in my brother's case), Luke's rage at the system, Bianca's unfair lot but determination to make life the best it can be for their younger siblings.

My brother died at 14 in 2013. He never saw me even hit double digits in age, never saw me go to university, never read Heroes of olmpus. But he's here, I think, in some small way.

Now, ten years from when I lost my brother, there's a TV series of what was his favourite series and mine. It's like reading the books for the first time again and finding my brother again.

My favorite headcanons about the Di Angelo family. I have a genuine interest in them, so please bear with me!

Maria di Angelo was born in 1909 and met Hades and Persephone in 1932, during a party at the Italian embassy in the US. She had Bianca in 1933, and Nico in 1935 (I refuse in any way Rick's idea that the two were born at the end of the 20s, it doesn’t make with the timeline, but when does it make sense?)

She had an older brother, Michele, who was born in 1907, a younger sister, Elisabetta, born in 1919, and an older cousin, Giulio, born in 1908

Giulio went to live with them after the death of his father during WW1 because he was already an orphan of his mother, who died during childbirth. They grew up all together

These four kids didn't have many friends, except for the Adriani siblings, Alessandro (1906) and Vittoria (1909, but younger than Maria)

The Adriani are from both Naples and Rome (because of an arranged marriage), while the Di Angelo are from around Venice

The two families became friends because the two fathers met during the war and continued to see each other after the end of it because they both went into politics. The Di Angelo's became an ambassador, while the Adriani's a senator

During her adolescence, Maria had a little crush on Alessandro, but he always saw her as a little sister

Maria had a relationship with both Hades and Persephone but decided to cut it after Nico's birth, not because she wanted to but to protect her children from her father and older brother

She and Alessandro got married, to help her, but also to hide the relationship between Alessandro and Giulio (it was her idea, and she knows everything). They got married in 1937

Vittoria is Maria's best friend and always supported her

Ironically, I think Di Angelo's flower symbol is a white chrysanthemum, and Maria gave one to Michele before he went to Russia

All the family died during the war, while the Adriani siblings survived and are the only ones who remember them as people and not as symbols

The two parents died a few months before Italy's entrance into the war, Giulio and Elisabetta both died of pneumonia in 1942 (early year), while Michele died of hypothermia in Russia during the retreat (1943). Maria died because of Zeus, obv (in 1944)

Nobody in Italy knows what happened to Maria and her kids, even though Alessandro and Vittoria tried to find them. They became some sort of urban legend

Alessandro was sent to Africa during the war, hoping to see them again once he returned, but that never happened

Plus, I think Hades amplified Maria's sight. You know, when mortals can see over the Mist? Yeah, Maria could manipulate also her dreams, but this led her to make some sort of contact with Naomi Solace. The two of them started to see each other every night, and both of them started to develop some feelings for each other, a mix of eros and agape, something like that

Some of Naomi's songs are about her, like "Girl of the Forest" or "Fallen Angel" (I know, they are cringe titles, I'm very sorry!)

Naomi still dedicates some songs to Maria, even though she knows she's not here anymore

Plus, during HoO, when Argo II is in Venice, Nico, Hazel, and Frank meet a group of friends who are wandering in the city. They are very similar physically to Nico's relatives and one girl in particular reminds him of Maria. They aren't their reincarnations, but they are similar to them. This girl is also obsessed with Naomi's music and Di Angelo's story

And those are my main headcanons about them, right now I cannot think of others, but if I have others, I will share!

R.I.P. Bianca, you would've loved having Percy as an older sibling figure

Idc what yall say, I fully believe that if Bianca had lived her and Percy would've been close as hell regardless if she stayed a hunter

Because Bianca has been parentifed to hell and back and I know that girl would've thrived if she had someone like Percy looking out for her while she was doing her own thing

Charlie Beckendorf. I tried to add more Greek features to him, but I didn’t like how it turned out at all, I think I should have made him a much more bigger guy💪

Bianca💞 I really like it, as well as the art (although it is sloppy), it coincided with my ideas

Aphrodite Her image in the book is literally changeable, which really confused me and in general I don’t like the art hahahaha, but she’s cool

Haha, I like the way he looked in the film adaptation 🙈, so long hair suits him

I’m not really in the Percy Jackson fandom, but you can’t tell me that Persephone didn’t treat all of Hades’s kids like they were her own. Don’t get me wrong Hades was in so much trouble but she did not take that out on the kids those kids had nothing to do with it she treated them like they were her own.

"They will come." But Nico wasn't sure.

He walked in, Hazel was in the living room, reading a book, Frank was at his side, sitting straight, in a different chair than Hazel, too nervous.

"Leo and Jason?"

"They will come."

Hazel sighed, patting at his side, where Nico sat, burying his fingers on his tights.

Being in a polyamory relationship was hard, especially when his family mocked him about that, even Hazel, sweet and caring, looked at him weirdly.

"Nico, dad is expecting you, he's in his office."

Bianca was standing, avoiding his eyes, walking away when Nico passed at her side, his heart still aching.

"None of your boys came."

"They're late, Leo is working, soon he will get a patent, the youngest boy getting one."

Nico's voice was angry, the teasing in his father's tone infuriating him, the words dripping venom.

"And Jason, his father still spoiling him? at least Valdez has his own money"

"The scholarship of Jason isn't a gift"

Mr. di Angelo waved, standing from his desk, walking to the dining room, where the rest of the family was waiting.

Thanks to god, only his sisters, father, and step-mother were there, but he was expecting Jason and Leo, the family wouldn't be so mean in their presence.

He could fake an emergency, though, Leo burning something, Jason injured, an imaginary pet dying.

While he considered causing an accident, the doorbell rang, the heart of Nico pumping, he almost ran to open the door, Leo and Jason on the door.

"Sorry, babe, Superman got stuck at the laundry."

Nico hugged Leo, breathing deeply, kissing his jaw, barely crying, feeling safe with his boys.

"Hi, Neeks, I'm really sorry."

Jason was holding a bouquet, a shy smile, bitting the little scar on his face, reaching Nico's hand, interweaving their fingers, kissing them.

"At least you're here."

More Percy Jackson headcanons

-Hazel’s favorite modern artist is definitely Laufey.

-The Seven roasted marshmallows over Leo at least once.

-Tyson’s favorite desert is chocolate and peanut butter brownies.

-Annabeth listens to Paris Paloma.

-Percy used to make fun of Jason for only being able to grow stubble.

-Nico has Saint Bernard by Lincoln on repeat at least once a week.

-Percy is either the driest or most animated texter, it just depends who you are.

-Piper listens to Dazey and the Scouts. 

-Zoë Nightshade’s favorite fruit was the blackberry.

-Bianca’s was the blueberry.

-Nico absolutely hates pomegranates. 

-Annabeth and Hazel both like earl gray tea with a bit of vanilla.

-Reyna’s favorite bird is the raven and she has a small whittled sculpture of one she carries with her.

-If someone exposed Ella to Wikipedia, she’d be on it all the time.

-Rachel gives Ella any interesting bird feather she finds.

-Will gets called Rapunzel. 

-Annabeth has one of those huge ass tasers that look like an enlarged flashlight.

Percy Jackson Headcanons!!!

- Percy Jackson is Genderfluid and Bisexual. He obviously loves Annabeth, but have you seen the way he is with Luke/Charles/Jason? Oh also Genderfluid cuz water hehe

- Will Solace has plague powers. He can glow and he is a good healer, sure. But a lot of Apollo’s kids have more offensive things (such as battle magic from Apollo himself or gifted with bows). I think plague powers (hidden or undiscovered) would be neat.

- Jason Grace is gay. Piper and Jason were a beard couple, through and through. I am a diehard Valgrace fan and think they would be together eventually. But, possibly Jason x Ethan?

- Leo Valdez is queer. He is attracted to women and Jason. I love the idea of Lityerses x Leo.

- Bianca Di Angelo would have been stronger than Nico di Angelo if she had lived. She was older, and more responsible than her brother. If Nico and Bianca live then Percy is strongest with Hazel maybe coming second. If Nico had died, I think Bianca could have been stronger than Percy, especially as a Hunter of Artemis

It has now been 86 years to the day since Bianca and Nico entered the Lotus Hotel in the TLT musical

Did anyone else ever notice that the Underworld kids are excluded even in their names?

Like Jason, Thalia, and Perseus are all mythological names based on great heroes or goddesses.

And then there's Hazel, Bianca, and Nico. Not connected to mythology at all.

Di Angelo kids,

AU where Bianca lives and visits her brother as often as she can (because that's what happened right?)

i feel like Nico's entire personality depended on bianca.

like she was kind of his life force.

when we are first introduced to them both, bianca and nico were living normal lives (or as normal as a demigod's life can get).

therefore nico was your average 10 year old and he was all happy and he was like 'you're dionysus!!' 'do u play mythomagic' bianca buy me ice cream' kinda kid.

then when bianca joins the hunters and it seems like to nico that she has a new family, nico becomes a bit more closed off and cold.

not too much, but a little bit.

after all, he still had bianca.

when he finds out bianca is going on a quest, nico becomes angry and slightly rude.

when percy assures him that bianca will be fine, his mood lifts.

when he finds out bianca has died, he becomes angry.

not an angry that can be toned down by just anyone.

but by bianca.

when he finally speaks to bianca's ghost, he lets all that anger wash away.

because bianca said so.

note : this doesn't apply if Hazel or Bianca want to assert older kids' privileges, then it's Hazel is 4 years older than nico, and bianca is 2 years older than nico

my hot death sibs take is that it is a futile effort to try and give them any kind of "older/younger sibling" dynamic. they were born within a month of one another and after Hazel is revived they're still only like a year apart and are peers on every level. just give them a twins-like dynamic, cause that's the closest to what they have. the only time one of them being older (Hazel) ever is relevant/comes up is when theyre poking fun at one another. boom problem solved.

Just to add to this (but with the underworld kids)

Nico and Hazel's eyes change color according to which gem is nearest to them, or whatever their normal eye color is if there isn't one near (Bright, bright gold for hazel, and dark but multicolored eyes for Nico like a gemstone). But both of them naturally have sweet eyes, that are kind, but learned their scary stares

On the other hand, Bianca has the deepest darkest eyes (that don't change color) , this changed slightly after she became a hunter, but she and Nico both have intimidating stares (Bianca was born with it, but Nico learned it from her), while Hazel has a stunning wolf stare.

Nico di Angelo with the biggest doe eyes. Big, wide, adoring brown eyes. People can't help but fall in love when they see those eyes.

Will Solace with the most feline eyes. Pretty, upturned, cynically curious, blue eyes. People can't help but be uncomfortable when they see those eyes.

Nico di Angelo who had been stereotyped as unsettling and strange (he can be BUT) he has been looking out for and helping people nearly all his life.

Will Solace who has been stereotyped as unthinkingly optimistic and trusting (he can be BUT) he is curious, chooses his battles, and helps people through tough love and unconventional guidence.

The di Angelo's are part Indian, because I think that would be interesting

Bianca and Nico

They both look extremely similar, in fact, if you give them the same hairstyle, they would practically look the same, the difference is that Nico is usually terrifying to be near or look at, but Bianca is nicer ( funnily enough Bianca is more introverted while Nico is an extrovert). But if you look Nico in the eyes and suddenly you both are best friends (you just can't resist the soulful eyes) and also they're colored like earth (brown but with highlights of Gold Green, and Purple mainly but a bunch of other colors, and really, really pretty. Also they change color depending on the closest and biggest Jewel/Mineral nearby). While Bianca's eyes suck in all the light and are dark pitch black, and she gives terrifying death glares. But when blindfolded or something looks extremely nice

Nico dies (not really) au

Bianca and Reyna beg him to come with them, but he can only say no a body needs a would and a soul needs a body, that's the difference between ghosts and souls, ghosts are untethered and free, souls are not.

His body rests under the earth stuck, in his fathers domain, but out of his reach. young, only 13 once again not allowed to grow

they sit with him sometimes, when they are free. they stares into his lovely, angelic face, when he'd been here with them in body they hadn't appreciated just how young and innocent he looked, how he would never age alive, but dead. how if he had been allowed to grow as normal he would have been 90, 100. or even just grow after the lotus casino, he would have been 20, but no he would be forever 12-13.

Bianca chose to remain young, he didn't another, one of his many sacrifices. Bianca was allowed to roam, to play , to be with friends, to be young and free. she lived the first part of her life as her brother's second mother and the rest free. Nico was stuck, with no-one to talk to, he was young but not free, stuck in that one spot, he spent the first part of his life free and the rest stagnant.

he sometimes begs to be taken to the underworld so he could rest, but he isn't dead

Bianca alive au

When people think Nico is creepy :

What do you mean he is creepy he is 12-13 barely a teenager!

look at this adorable face 'proceeds to aggressively squish Nico's face while Nico is blushing and looking embarrassed' how is he scary, and 'proceeds to baby talk Nico' look! he's so adorable ( even though 12 year old Nico is the same height as her, Bianca pretends Nico is still a tiny baby)

Hazel also joins in and fights against the seven, (in my au Hazel died at 14, and Nico revives her when he is 12, so there's a 2 yr age gap, and she is chronologically 4 years older than Nico, and 2 years older than Bianca) hazel is always talking about how adorable and kind Nico is

If bianca lives I want her to somehow or the other be there for nico, as the over protective older sister

Examples include,

the battle of manhattan/the final battle, and Nico arrives with the skeleton army, and the 3 gods, and bianca is just like, "well little brother you may be 12 now, but you'll always be my little brother"

When Nico revives Hazel ( in this au, he is trying to revive his mother), bianca and hazel talk, (hazel is 2 years older than bianca and 4 years older than nico), they debate who is actually older, but eventually they just bond over making fun of nico for being the younger brother

For the labyrinth thing, in this version nico is just outcasted and/or ostracised by the camp so he runs away and is found by Minos, it follows a similar plot as the actual book, but this nico is not bitter, he just thought minos was a genuinely nice/helpful ghost and was helping him, but when bianca finds out minos manipulated nico she goes beserk (nico is still the ghost king tho),

after the tartarus and Jar incident, she is mad at the 7 (minus hazel) for ever doubting her brother

then when nico almost fades after the athena parthenos incident, she's mad at reyna + the seven, but does eventually forgive them, but not forget

and after he jumps into tartarus a second time, she doesn't even know who to be mad at, she's just mad at both of them

Now, I'm imagining everytime she wants to find Nico she digs her hand into a shadow and pulls out nico
