Photo of two cross-stitched orcas swimming through a lilac sea of stars. The orcas are in a smooth pixel art style, and their black and white bodies shine with purple-white highlights and shadows. There is a strong contrast between the dark, detailed orcas and the pale, abstract sea of stars and constellations.

A butterfly, moth, and heart themed cross stitch sampler stitched in berry pink, black, and gray threads on a soft pink fabric. The butterfly and flower motifs are interspersed with heart borders. Major motifs include a large common rose swallowtail butterfly with heart-shaped spots and backstitching details on the wings perched on a large pink peony flower, a black and gray butterfly with heart-shaped antennae, and a mostly black, clear-winged swallowtail butterfly with the numbers "2025" above it and the initials "KLH" below it.
A close-up of a cross stitched black clear-winged swallowtail butterfly. It has negative space where the wings are "clear" with backstitched veins and heart-shaped spots on the hindwings. Above it, the year "2025" is stitched, and below it, the initials "KLH" is stitched, both in a pink gradient.
A close-up of a large pink peony flower with gray leaves. The petals in the middle are the darkest pink and the outermost petals are white. The petals have negative space to give an almost 3D effect. A gray, black, and pink swallowtail butterfly with heart motifs on the hindwings and backstitched details on the forewings is perched on the flower.

My 2025 Valentine's cross stitch sampler is out! More insects this year and a bit more of a Valloween vibe

Kerri Pajutee makes miniatures for dollhouses. Her sculptures are freeformed from polymer clay over wire armature & dressed in a natural fibre coat. The delicateness and sharp quality of detail on these small palettes is amazing

A finished cross stitch of Kermit the Frog sitting on a log in a swamp, playing the banjo with his mouth open, singing. A swirl of rainbow rises from his mouth, with white musical notes included. It is a representation of Kermit singing Rainbow Connection in The Muppet Movie. The project is in a wooden hoop.

Here is my latest project, "Kermit Singing Rainbow Connection"! It was so so fun to stitch this singing Kermit the Frog. If you want to try it out yourself, you can find the pattern in DoctorBeatman's store on Etsy!

So many of our ancestors were raised to do needlework/emboidery sewing etc as a requirement for life. To show their skill. To show they were refined. To show they would make a suitable wife. For so many other reasons.

Now imagine taking these same people and showing them variegated floss, glow in the dark floss, or floss with glitter in it. Then explaining to them that you'd be using this to stitch Optimus Prime wearing a flower crown. I'd imagine a few would be proud.
