Can you tell us a little bit about the Lemon tree au?

OHH YES OFC!

The lemon tree story is actually part of a bigger AU of mine :D

Basically, i had this idea for an au in a medieval european setting, where a bunch of magic users and hybrids (the hermits) have created a hidden safetown anyone hunted for their powers, since magic is illegal in most other towns

Grian, a watcher in training, gets send there to keep an eye on the incredibly chaotic magic users, who regularly accidentally open up portals to other dimensions, and stop said shenanigans if they get out of hand.

(this goes as well as you think it would, because really, WHO THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO LET THE GUY WHO'S KNOWN FOR BEING CHAOTIC AND WHO STARTS REVOLUTIONS REGULARLY DO THIS???)

The lemon tree is basically a lil story about gem, the owner of the fish shop (that also sells treasure!) and Pearl, one of the postal workers & the person who does the most community work

Gem is rly grateful for all the things Pearl has done for the town in the past few months, so she decides to repay her by decorating! Her first target is of course the town square, where all the shops and the post office are located. She plants a little lemon tree and uses magic to make it grow faster, which uh... Ends up going a bit haywire...

(i don't wanna give away more than that yet, since i don't wanna spoil the comic, but feel free to ask other questions if u have any!)

[Day 30]: TANUKI JOEL TANUKI JOEL TANUKI JOEL-

(Whenever i export animations, procreate sometimes messes up the colors a bit? It looks fine on my ipad, but the animation is desaturated on my phone, so here's what it should look like:)

Anyways, i thought it would be funny to draw Joel summoning Effo, inspired by Grian & Scar summoning mumbo during season 8. It turned out even sillier than i thought it would and i absolutely love it wkdhwjd

(explanation of the animation + sketch of the tail below!)

Also wanted to show off the sketch since it shows off the movement a lot better! I did end up changing a LOT (and even ended up adding some frames where i did lineart w/o a sketch inbetween... Oop-) but u can still kind of see the drag and offset?

So basically: since the tail isn't a stiff object like... A table or sth, it has multiple 'joints' (<-don't remember the proper term for it). Now, if u animated the tail just moving back and forth it would look v v stiff and wierd, since irl the tip of the tail would be "dragged along" with the bottom (<-aka the ACTUAL joint that the movement originates from). To create a more organic and realistic movement, you need to slightly delay the other parts of the tail. I usually use those lil circles to sketch this out at first, since its a lot easier to do without having to worry about shape and perspective and such.

(in theory i know wayyy too much about animation, but in practice im still struggling to do it bc i don't have much experience animating ekfhakdj- i do know the theory p well, which is why im hoping his lil explanation might help someone! Let me know if u guys want me to include some art theory lessons more often :D)

1) my creativity!!! I love creating art so so much and it's so much fun. I love helping others come up with ideas, i love getting inspired by others or inspiring them! I love how i always have new ideas and i never run out of things to make! I love love love creating things so much and i hope i can do it for the rest of my life!

2) My love for learning new things!! I love it so so much. I'm like a sponge soaking up knowledge and although others seem a bit put off by me dropping fun facts no matter what the topic is of conversation is or ranting for hours about the most random and obscure things, i absolutely my love for learning! I love my ability to connect my knowledge and connect different topics. I love discussing them with others. I love that even though i have pretty severe memory issues, my interests seem to be the one thing i do remember! I also love how broad my interests are. (credit to my adhd/autism for making me hyperfixate on the most random shit LMFAO)

3) my hair! Idk whether this counts, since it's dyed, but i absolutely love the blue color!! And my haircut :D its so pretty! Also shoutout to my natural hair for surviving all the bleach <2 i unironically love how it's still alive bc i always forget to use conditioner wifhskej

1) My hair. It's a dark brown most of the time but there are little flecks of red that shine in the sun :3

2) My eyes. Most of the time they're a brown-black color, but in the sun they turn a very nice and pretty amber ^w^

3) My thighs. I know most people hate having large thighs but I honestly love them. I can stim on them, I can use them to warm up my hands, and they make it easier to trap my partners in snuggles >:3

I hope you like it :D i actually started the sketch for this during the hermitaday challenge, but didn't rly have time to keep working on it during the challenge. As soon as i saw this request i knew i HAD to finally finish it :D

I decided to do a more painting like style for this, but for some fucking reason i also thought it would be a good idea not to use any blending tools or opacity stuff (excluding some final touches) and just... Do flat shading... While trying to pick everything from the colorwheel w/o like, mixing colors....

Did this exercise make me improve at using the digital color wheel? Yeah probably. But also this took wayyy too fucking long and i am never doing it this way again LMFAO

Fyi this is more of a rhetorical question to announce the fact i might post more multifandom stuff

But idk currently my brain isn't like violently latching onto any fandoms and making my entire identity revolve around it. Hermitcraft is cool n all but no matter how hard i try, my hyperfixation on it isn't as strong as i want it to be :<

So i though i might like, branch out a bit? Imma prob still mainly post hermitcraft, but i might occasionally mention dungeon meshi, saiki k, bbc merlin and some other stuff! (more in the tags)
