It had been such a long time since Cooper had seen Brooklyn. The last time he'd seen her the man made a complete fool of himself. There was no happy medium when the forty year old was wasted beyond compare. He was either a sloppy, emotional mess or he was a hot-headed asshole. Sadly for Brooklyn that day, the man was a sloppy, emotional mess. The man tried to avoid her ever since. Trying to stay as quiet as possible to not say anything else even more stupid, Cooper nodded his head "You look beautiful." Was all he could say because it was the truth. He was surrounded by beautiful women in New York. Clearing his throat, Cooper folded his arms across his chest and nodded his head "It's alright. Last night I got stupid drunk and have had a massive headache all day. " Bitting his lips out of habit, Cooper continued with "Anyone I need to beat up for you? Cause you know I will." He said honestly but then nodded once more "A drink. But uh.... don't let me get the way I did last time."

The weekend had come and gone, it was almost 4:00 PM in the city that never sleeps and while they still had a few more days left of the Gala, he knew that he needed a day to recover from last nights activities. It was nothing serious, Cooper just got wasted beyond compare and while he knew Miray was here, the lady sniper of the Jade Menaces, he wanted to see her for a while. Clearing his throat, Cooper rapped his knuckles on the door and opened his mouth to speak "M. I need to discuss something with you, open up. It's Hawkins. Let me in."

The man was plastered beyond compare. He wasn't a Detective anymore, there were was no God damn need to worry about getting caught on the job. He was at a party and Cooper was there to party. Usually a loaner, being apart of the Jade Menaces helped him in the aspect of coming out of his fucked up shell that childhood traumas had created for him. He had somehow met Frankie. Wasn't sure if it was a good thing. She was a Syndicate and he was a Jade Menaces. It was messy, they were messy, he was messy. Cooper took a deep breath and downed the rest of his alcohol and knocked on her door "Frank. Frankie open up. It's me." He said for a moment and then continued with "Hope youre in somethin decent... or not."

Cooper wanted nothing more than to get beyond wasted. This week needed to be over and it needed to be the weekend already. Shitty news from back home that somehow got back to him. He only talked to his mother and little sister but barley. His parents were getting an award and a street named after them and the mayor of Southport in North Carolina wanted the whole family there. The whole family, that meant Cooper. Cooper had to go and he just simply did not want too. Simply could not go. Thank god there was free booze tonight because Cooper was plastered. He was walking up to his room to drink himself to sleep when Cooper saw who was coming "What the fuck are you looking at? Leave me fuckin be and let me drink my free fuckin booze." Cooper spat at Remington and then shook his head "What do you want? I'm not on the fuckin clock." Cooper shrugged and looked down at the ground for a moment then continued with "What do you want Bishop?"

Coopers heart was racing a million miles per minute. He was bound to run into someone he knew at this stupid gala that he did not want to be involved in. Thankfully it wasn't his first ex, it was Morgan. His recent one and fuck the man didn't realize how much he missed her till now. He took a deep breath and ran a hand through his hair before approaching her "Morgan." Cooper said as quietly as possible hoping to god she didn't hear him "Tequila. Always Tequila."

Morgan didn't get why she needed to be here, yeah it was for appearances, NYPD's standing with the tragic murder.. blah blah blah. She was in narcotics, not homicide. She was just on edge considering the jades and her fellow cops were all in one room together. While the other gang members knew of her past connection, she did well to hide that in the workplace. "Your strongest drink please," She ordered at the bar, looking around she nodded hello to the person next to her.

cooper elias hawkins was born on cctober 31st back in 1984 to two loving and hardworking parents named william and heather (nee’ cooke) hawkins. the hawkins clan was very well known and well liked in their town of southport, north carolina which is where they resided and where cooper had grown up. william & heather are very successful owners of a diner that’s family owned. it’s beloved in their town.

ryan hawkins was the first of the hawkins clan, then ethan, the annie, then cooper and finally the baby megan whom they call meg. growing up cooper idolized his older siblings, his brothers were his best friends and his sister annie was someone whom he admired and aspired to be like. meg was someone cooper always took care of and adored. the hawkins siblings were well known and well liked by the town and could do no wrong.

they were one big happy family. that was until one 4th of July annie and cooper had decided to take their family boat out onto the water alone, without their parents permission. he was 11 at the time and annie was a little bit older. they drove it illegally, but annie really wanted to go and she always had a way of making cooper follow in her footsteps.

they were having a good time and being safe until annie decided to jump into the water after cooper had told her and begged her not too. it was a while until cooper had realized she hadn’t come up from the water. panicked and scared, cooper illegally drove the boat back to shore for some help. once reaching his parents & some cops, they ruled it as a drowning accident. they always said that annie held the family together and her death tore it apart.

his father was furious and devastated and wrongfully accused & blamed cooper for annies death even though he knew it wasn’t his fault. growing up for cooper wasn’t easy anymore. he wasn’t the happy go lucky kid he used to be. his father had mentally and emotionally and sometimes physically abused him for years, and his two older brothers followed in their fathers footsteps. cooper closed himself off and didn’t talk to them until he actually needed too. the only ones who truly cared about him and worried about his well being was his mother & his little sister meg.

he kept to himself and got into reading and writing. he hid himself away in his room, and only had a couple of friends. cooper excelled in school and kept his grade average high. he graduated high school with honors and had decided to move as far away from the small town of southport as possible to get a fresh start.  choosing the city that never sleeps, cooper was accepted into almost every nyc college but ended up choosing brooklyn college. he majored in & has a master in criminal justice, and minored in florescence science.

however that wasn’t what he wanted to do in life. after graduating college with honors again, he decided to go into the academy and become a police officer. after a couple years of being a cop, he took the detectives exam and has been/is in the homicide unit ever since. that was until he had met and fallen in love with his former partner, noora raymond. they were in love and sneaking around and then one day the man disappeared. he had met someone who was apart of the Gang the Jade Menaces. cooper has been working as a Sniper for them ever since.

Morgan Chen is someone whom he met on accident, someone after Noora Raymond. It was a drunken one night stand but somehow because so much more than that. He fell in love with he, more in love with her that Noora and theyve been together ever since. On and off, but mostly on. The two, especially Cooper is ready to settle down. He's ready to say those three words to her, he's ready to ask her to marry him, have a family.

However his job and the death of his sister haunts him on a daily basis. Cooper can be pretty self-destructive sometimes & will purposely get into bar fights but then will use his “I’m a detective” excuse to get out of it even though he's not anymore. He drinks, and sometimes his friends think it can be a problem. Used to smoke in college but doesn’t anymore. still loves to read and write and secretly keeps journals and writes in them. Especially writing to his sister Annie when he can't sleep.
