. Art is said to heal, but it does so in our spirit. For viruses, we need much more. . As we strongly believe that if everybody #stayshome helps, here comes our contribution to encourage you to do so: As many people ask us about what our influences are, we’ll share with you what and who inspire us: writers, designers, painters, books, cinematographers… We hope this triggers your curiosity to know more and do some extra research. . Please, #staysafe, #stayathome, reduce your stress and increase your curiosity. Let curiosity guide you in these difficult times. . Reality is merely an illusion. The “external world” and our “inner world” sometimes does not match. But this mismatch is not an obstacle, it is the tool to create new worlds and new narratives. As Lewis Carroll states: “Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.” We are listing on this post the comic and animator artists who have deeply changed the way we interpret our reality. They have been able to create entire worlds which are totally different to the ones where we live but at the same time coherent and complete in themselves. If you have the opportunity do not miss them. After knowing their work you will not see your “real” world with the same eyes. . “To create is to live twice”. Albert Camus . Instagram limitation (10 images and 2000 characters does not let us to explain you much more about these creators. We will post here one of their movies or comic work, but do not miss any of them!)

The Goddess of wisdom, strategy, and crafts, olives, Miss Minerva herself.
Starting life as but a humble heavenly maggot growing in the brains of Jupiter, Minerva is perhaps the god most loyal to her father’s authority. While her relatives seem ready to betray him at any sign of weakness, the goddess insists to remain obedient to father even during his current decade long absence from the throne. She claims that it’s because she’s the only one with a sense of honour, her family sees her as nothing but a parasite trying to keep her source of power in control.
She is frequently deeply invested in the affairs of mortals, and perhaps more then any other god preoccupied by how mortals perceive her. Minerva is obsessed with keeping a good public image as an aloof thoughtful lady of rationality, and not the uh…petty god she more often acts like.
While having no offspring of her own, Minerva takes a notably keen interest in her half-human siblings, lately invested in her “Favorite sister” Pierce and spent years trying to guide her to be a proper half-god.
She prefers to keep her true form a mystery to the public, and chose the owl, her favourite snack, as her main symbol.

‘Ello, mate! It’s werelivingarts and I’m here with a simple guide to manage your time and prioritize your tasks with only 3 steps ~
Before planning anything, For me (you guys might have different approach), I find recognizing my energy level pattern really helpful because I can prioritize tasks and get the done in my most productive time rather than forcing myself to cram for homework after midnight. 🌚🌝
I start planning my day by dumping all of the tasks I remember down to to-do list using Bear, and then I would organize these tasks if they are daily, weekly or monthly task on Edison app – which also allows time blocking. After that, I would prioritize tasks daily on app Success. (This is not ad, this is just helpful apps that I use). 😎
Hope you find this helpful in some ways! Thank you for reading! ❤️💜💙
Jeanette Winterson
“I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.”
— Helena Bonham Carter (via bird-madgirl)

Sketches by Bengali film director/artist, Satyajit Ray for his unproduced THE ALIEN. Late 1960s.
At one point Peter Sellers was more or less attached, Steve McQueen and Marlon Brando were interested, but Ray got scammed by his representative in Hollywood and the project unfortunately stranded. Ray later believed films such as CLOSE ENCOUNTERS and E.T. especially were directly inspired by his work, as mimeographed copies of his script were freely floating around in Hollywood.
I first came across this story in a biography on Peter Sellers that I read in the late 1990s. I remember thinking, I wish I could read Ray’s script, see his sketches. Well, long live the Internet. There’s a book on the episode now too (image 3).
A point of light appears as a reflection in the water, grows bigger and bigger until the pond itself is lit up. The chorus of frogs, crickets and jackals grows in volume, and is joined by a humming sound. In a blaze of light something descends on the pond, shattering its placidity.

Took up the 100 medhead challenge long back, also I'm not even counting the heads, Incorporating this into my daily routine with the motto of one day one head :) . In this way I'll no longer have the toxic relationship with painting, I've a peccadillo of abusing myself with something I love to do. We'all learning...

I have no idea where I’m going with this post but I want to say that Sourav Dutta deserves more credit for his research on some of the less researched Bengali books and authors. He had multiple blogs which are all absolute GEMS and if you are into Bengali literature you should totally check them out.
He restored and compiled many illustrations that are unavailable now, which is like really cool. Like original illustrations and headpieces from the magazines where those stories and novels were first published, or illustrations from those tiny hardcover anthologies that were popular before samagras were a thing, all that.
There’s also a lot of information on those books in his blogs, on both canon info and publication history and it’s like. Really interesting. I recently found out he died and I just wish I could have talked to him. I did talk to him in the comments of one of his blogs when I first discovered them a couple of years back, but still. I think he would have been great to cultivate, tbh.
I’ll link the blogs that I know of so everyone can pay a visit.
Blogus is a miscellaneous blog with pages on many books and series, including Ghanada, Tenida, Harshabardhan-Gobardhan, Kumar-Bimal, Mejokarta, several Bengali translations of Hound of the Baskervilles and many others, pages on authors, illustrations of books, comic adaptations including a comic of Charmurti that came out in Jugantor in the 1970s etc. There’s even a page on the song Bhajahari Manna. It’s super interesting.
Ghanada Gallery has illustrations and covers of the Ghanada stories, publication dates and information on the illustrators.
Tenida Treasury is the one I’ve frequented the most for obvious reasons, and it has a lot of good shit, but especially a chronological list of all the Tenida stories which I don’t think exists anywhere else. And all the illustrations and trivia are very cool too.
Manoranjan Museuem is about Manoranjan Bhattacharya, the author of Hukakashi. There’s not only illustrations but also ads and reviews of his books and a lot of general trivia.

Feel free to ignore.
