“I Wish It Need Not Have Happened In My Time," Said Frodo.

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping

alr srs question. i want to name a new oc i have thats essentially a fantasy character. hes v much that soft looking outside but tsundere and a bit violent if that makes sense? anyway ive been searching and i came up w/ 舞英 (wǔyīng) and from what ive found it means dance; flower, blossom. i just want to check if thats accurate. i want a flowy flowery kinda name for him idk how to describe it. these are first names btw. i was also thinking 青蓮 (qīng lián) meaning blue, green, young; waterfall, lotus

I was rambling on the issue of museums and human remains and how certain populations are more likely to have their bodies put on display to be gawked at and then went "well I guess the Pompeii casts were of Europeans. there are bones in there right?" and Googled it to make sure, at which point I confirmed that yes there are bones in there, but more interestingly DNA testing revealed that a cast of an adult holding a child everyone assumed was a mother and child were, in fact, a man and a kid entirely unrelated to him. Honestly that's more moving to me. Maybe they were connected in a way other than blood, but maybe a stranger saw a child when the world was ending and thought the one thing he could do was hold them.

I am making this post for no apparent reason, Americans

Resources for immigration to Canada:

Articles on moving to Canada from the USA:

Moving to Canada, explained

‘Move to Canada’ threats return – but actually emigrating there is difficult

For knowing basic Canadian politics:

I know this isn’t viable for all Americans and in general I wouldn’t recommend it (given how difficult it can be) but I know a lot of vulnerable people are desperate and feeling very unsafe in the USA right now. I’m not judging anyone, which is why I am providing this information with no bias what so ever.

Americans should also know that Canada has every single systemic social issue that the USA does, so moving here is not going to necessarily get rid of these issues. They may be less severe in some ways, more severe in others but there are serious issues here, so if you are considering this please don’t uphold Canada as some kind of utopia.

I am also available anytime to answer any questions.

no matter the outcome of this election: organize, build local community, build strength in masses. elections aren't the only time politics happen, it also happens on the streets, in the community and by mutually supporting each other.

the way forward is together. we build power from the ground up. in the US and everywhere else in the world.

a better world is possible and we can start building it now, by ourselves. anarchism starts in the now.
